Sporophytes of Haircap moss (Polytrichum sp) are one of the first things rising up off the forest ground in springtime.
I think red, orange and green colors of these sporophytes added a nice contrast to otherwise blue & white setting. Using a wide aperture allowed me to isolate the subject nicely from the background and made the sporophytes in the background to look like kind of a shadows.
